Kedri & Matt Metzger
Kedri & Matt Metzger, The South Mountain Inn
Inspiring & Heatfelt Look into the Teamwork & Balance Behind the Business

In 2018, we packed up our four kids and left behind a life in Baltimore City and twenty year non-profit careers. I was an immigration attorney for a relief and development agency and Matt worked for Habitat for Humanity. We were in search of a more consolidated life and a job we could do together as a couple. Matt and I stumbled on this inn for sale and decided to leap into a new adventure. We discovered that the Wernersville area had been a destination for serenity and healing ever since the 1800s. South Mountain was home to several summer resorts and later a large drug and alcohol treatment Center, the Caron Foundation. In fact, the inn had originally been created as lodging for families. The history was compelling and we renamed the inn, The South Mountain Inn, in order to connect to the mountain's past. We have expanded our inn since COVID and are completing an addition in a few months - giving us 10 rooms. The inn sits on seven acres with a view of the Blue Mountain. We provide lodging for individuals and couples, as well as retreats and weddings. The inn is also home to two miniature donkeys.
